Why Macrobiotics

There are many things to say and many qualities to love about the Macrobiotic way. These are my top favorites. If you’d like to learn more I recommend reading The Macrobiotic Path to Health and Healing or any other book by Michio Kushi.

Flexible Philosophy

Macrobiotics is a lifestyle philosophy that balances and harmonizes your life.  Since people change over time, macrobiotics has a flexible approach and encourages a diet adjusted to suit every individual.

Balanced Intake

By avoiding extremes and equalizing what we take in, our bodies are able to remove toxins naturally, recover from illness and operate at their optimum. For some there is no experience more profound than the discovery that eating a certain way can make you feel better than you’ve ever felt.

Autonomous Approach

The approach to any new lifestyle should be positive, and needs to be feasible for each individual. Change is about adding healthy ingredients and variety, and not about avoiding foods. The idea is to learn to make informed choices in any situation and do the best we can to provide our bodies with the best quality and right amounts of nutrients.

Intuitive Wellness

Our bodies thank us when we eat well, and macrobiotics helps us to get re-tuned with our intuition and  relearn a wealth of knowledge that is our natural heritage: Wonderful foods are the key to health, happiness, and enlightenment. Specifically, a macrobiotic diet consists of whole grains, vegetables and beans supplemented with fruit, fish, nuts and seeds. By eating these centered foods we can restore well-being, increase energy, and learn to live in harmony with nature and ourselves.

One Peaceful World

If we take care of ourselves and our families in a mindful way, and participate in the community not preaching but doing, the whole world benefits. Being more respectful towards the environment and balancing our consumption to take only what we need, we also contribute to create a more peaceful world.
